Well.....it was a very disapppointing ending to what started out as one of my best classes. There are so many things we tend to overlook as we hurry to accomplish everything on our plate. Sometimes we get too focused on certain things that we may overlook the obvious. And that is just what happened to me...I failed to recognize I am 2 pages short of my final project! How could I have missed it! However, sometimes we get pre-occupied or too laxed that we lose focus and fail to see what is in front of us and voil`a - mistakes happen. Although I can't say that my final grade is bad, of course, we always want something better. On the other hand, I always believe that things happen for a reason. And this is one of those instances that would always be in the back of my mind. This will make me become more careful and go back to re-check, double check, and even triple check my work so that mistakes like this won't happen again. Overall, my experience with the class and every other classes I've had have been nothing but pleasant. Sure, some are harder than others but it's expected. We can't let slip-ups discourage us from attaining our goals since it can be a test of our determination. All I can say is "lesson learned" and move on.
To professor and everyone in the class, my sincere thanks for all the input in the discussion board and good luck in your future endeavors! Hope to see you again in my other classes.

My Journey
Going back to school "was" unimaginable and unreachable to me before. Well, that was before. I had contemplated to back so many times but something always set me back. Last year I made a promise to myself that no matter how hard I think it's going to be and no matter what obstacles I encounter, I will stick with my plan. Going back was the best decision I have made for myself and my family. With just 3 more terms to go, graduation is just within my grasp. Knowledge is something that money can't buy. It's never to late to back to school and it's never too late to learn something new. I realized that now. I applaud those who went back to school to better themselves and the lives of their family and the people around them. Good luck in your future endeavors! For those who are still thinking, don't waste time and good luck as well!

What is the fascination with fancy phones?
My son turned 15 a few days ago and naturally birthdays, of course, almost always require a "gift" especially for your children. Well, one of the so-called "gift ideas" was a fancy smart phone that not only cost a few hundred dollars upront but a steep monthly data plan as well. I am not a very techy person nor do I need a complicated phone. I guess you can call me old fashion but I don't need to be figuring out which buttons to push just to answer my phone or to retrieve my messages. My phone is not outdated but it is not the greatest either. It's a simple phone that does what it's supposed to do - to make calls, retrieve calls, and to keep up with the time to text of course (my children mostly - they seem to respond better and faster with text for some reason). To make a long story short, I am stuck in a contract for 2 years! I guess we have to keep up with technology. On the other hand, with how techonology advances and changes constantly, his new phone would most likely be replaced with a fancier, more complicated, more expensive version a few months from now way before his contract expires! Honestly, the wireless providers should revisit the length of the term and consider shortening it to accomodate today's youth.

Busy week
This has been a very busy week. College application deadlines are near and haven't decided where to apply yet. I figured since my daughter wants to stay close then I should concentrate on the schools nearby. However, that limits us to the number of colleges and universities we could apply for. My daughter insists on going to one of the CSU schools since she feels that she worked so hard up to this point and it would be unfair on her part to end up going to a community college. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with starting off in a community college but I do agree with her that she poured her all so that she can be accepted in a good school when the time comes. Financially, it would be hard but she is worth it!

Thanksgiving
I can't believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Our family has lot to be thankful for this year. In this down economy, we are all thankful that despite all the hurdles we've been through we are still here together, have a roof over our head, work, school, and our health. Many people take forgranted the little things we have that unfortunately some people this coming holidays won't have for themselves. For all of these things and the things I may have forgotten to mention, my family and I are very thankful. Hopefully, next year would be more fruitful for us and for everyone.
Can't wait to see family from far places who we only see during holidays. I am thankful for HOLIDAYS!
