Busy week
This has been a very busy week. College application deadlines are near and haven't decided where to apply yet. I figured since my daughter wants to stay close then I should concentrate on the schools nearby. However, that limits us to the number of colleges and universities we could apply for. My daughter insists on going to one of the CSU schools since she feels that she worked so hard up to this point and it would be unfair on her part to end up going to a community college. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with starting off in a community college but I do agree with her that she poured her all so that she can be accepted in a good school when the time comes. Financially, it would be hard but she is worth it!

This sounds a little stressful! I hope everything goes great for you guys. Yeah I don't see anything wrong with it especially if its just for preriquisites (I think that's how you spell it). Well good luck to you guys.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all of these tough decisions. I told my daughter that I could only chip in a certain amount and if she wanted to go to a school that costs more than that then she will have to pay for it. Maybe that would help in your situation too.
ReplyDeleteI know she has her heart set on a senior college, but it would cut down on expenses. Is she going to live at home?
ReplyDeleteTell her to shop around for a college.
Hi Professor
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to explain why I was leaning for her to go to a community college instead. I do see her point about her hardwork all through out but I agree with you that we would save so much money if she starts off in a 2 year college first. I am planning on enrolling her in a class at a community college for spring and summer which she is very excited about but I have to get an approval from her counselor. I want her to see first hand how it is and maybe she would feel different about the whole community college and university issue.
